I always figured the way I do it makes the most sense.. but I’ve been wrong before. I do Dharok -> Karil -> Ahrim -> Guthan -> Torag-> Verac. Blessed dhide is better as the improved magic defence is irrelevant, the ranged defence difference is marginal, the increased melee defence of d'hide helps against snakelings, and the prayer bonus helps not use as much supplies. Even with amethyst arrows, pretty sure Karil's is better than MSB (I), only by about 5%, but still better. This isn't factoring in the spec, but the extra hit would have to add 5% total DPS just to break even.
